Sigh, here is a rehash for you:

Brian put up a photo of stoning (I presume from Iran) and said that he does not need to go to the country to know evil. In the context of our discussion that would mean that Iran/Iranians are evil.

I answered that the photo was of an evil act (I am sure some fundamentalist Jew/Christian/Muslim is now sealing my death sentence for such blasphemy, but what the heck I am a Buddhist). But in order for him to prove his point about Iran/Iranians being evil, it is not enough to show that evil happened, but that he has to show evil is the dominant force in the country.

To illustrate the point, I put forward several examples: the NYC girl who through out her baby out of the window, the people getting shot (and not just once or twice) due to road rage, and state sanctioned death penalty for robbing someone of his/her car. Does any of the above mean that America/Americans are insane or evil?

There were no metaphors involved.
