If you are a Democratic candidate for the Senate in 2008, you are going to stand up and tell every audience you meet, "We know what you think about Iraq. The polls made that clear. The 2006 elections made it doubly clear. The role of Congress is to act in the people's interest, and the Republican leadership did their best to make sure that did not happen. Do you want your voice silenced for the next two years too?"

CYA has never given us particularly good results. I don't know why people would think it's going to become a fabulous system now- even that minority that doesn't want open discussion.
