Naysayers aside, we are all too ego-centric. It's what's going on around us today that we notice.

It's a big world. NYC or Chicago or Laytonville are merely viruses in the cytoplasm of bacteria feeding on the louse feeding on the tick attached to my cat; a pimple on the planet. Even the US makes up less than half of l/7 of the continents, which themselves make up 1/7 of the planet's surface. (And, the 6/7 which is water also has a volume factor which land doesn't).
And, we confuse hot and cold with the average. GW may be warmer nights, it may be warmer winters, colder but shorter winters, etc. Weathermen need to go back and look at their records over their careers, and see the trends.
