Well, I have some problems with that last paragraph, Allen, but I don't thik D'Souza is a religious fundamentalist. I've always taken him for a neocon fundamentalist--the Bill Bennett type. Universal values, whatshisname at Chicago embodied it, etc. type.

I'm more than a little surprised by the argument of the book. He made the university debate rounds with his first book which was basically a demented attack on political correctness. But he debated, fairly well, any number of reasonably bright academics of other persuasions. Stanley Fish was the most prominent that leaps to mind.

But this book certainly is a whacko. Not just demented.
