Something similar happened with the Blue Angels about four years ago, of course they aren't nearly at the astronauts level, but as far as Navy pilots are concerned, they are the best of the best..The true Top Gun...

Anyhow, it seems that for the first time ever (at least I think it was the first time) a woman was chosen to be a Blue Angel. One was married, I think it was the man, anyhow, that's neither here nor there, either way, they were not suppose to fraternize. The Navy gave them both a warning and told them to cut it out...Rather than stop, the affair continued, and they were both kicked out of the Navy..They both seemed to have it all, and they blew it!

Some guy on FOX is explaining that the brain malfunctions when true love happens...personally, I think it is other parts..but what do I know?

We talked about it tonight, and both agree that something must be really wrong. She is/was a full time astronaut with LOTS of pressure to excel, she is/was a Mom with 3 kids, don't know her own marital situation, but if it was in turmoil, those 3 things alone would be enough to clobber the mind and cause a severe Depression. (See Elizabeth Kubler-Ross's book "On Death and Dying"...) Add to all that, a "fling" and believing that someone actually cared about her, and that someone else was entering the scene.... It's probably a perfect example of a real case of "temporary insanity"....
