I understand your skepticism. I think we must keep trying. I don't see a better solution to the problems now, and in the future.

As for the mood, 2008 will tell. I guess we can just watch and wait. Then we will have our answer.

I don't really have much more of an idea about the moods and opinions of liberals than what I see on the Internet.

But I do know that all Republican voters consider the war on terrorism very important, while only the most centrist Democrats do.

I couldn't even begin to count the number of posts here to the effect that Bush is lying about threats from terrorists in order to scare people into supporting him.

Homosexuality and abortion pale in the eyes of the public compared to that one, I do believe.

In fairness to Hillary, I really do not believe that she would suddenly pull the plug on US involvement in support of the new government of Iraq, and let the terrorists win.

What makes you remain loyal to Bush and the Republican party?

I think the left is making a mistake about the mood and opinions of the country.

I think this is true as well, Brumar. And on top of that, there is one year, and at least 9 months for things to change, and change again. Plus, since McCain-Feingold, the candidates have to spend, over $50 Million EACH just this year....and probably that much or more in 2008. Insanity!

Wrong. The mood of the country is heading towards cynicism and outright rage.

The only reason this justified anger hasn't welled up is the massive corporate media block and massive lying done by the Republicans who have controlled all branches of the government. Most people haven't paid attention to:

- 55% increase in the National Debt in just half a decade
- the Plame affair in which the Bush admin used the power of the federal government to ruin the career of a CIA NOC working on nonproliferation of WMDs
- Medicare Part D where Republican Tauzin received a $2m/year gig lobbying for pharmaceutical companies in return for ramming through this absurd piece of legislation
- Outright lying about Iraq: aluminum tubes, uranium from africa, $1.7 billion cost, flags and flowers, 6 month duration, blah, blah, blah
- $12B in cash flown to Iraq and then (at least) $8.8B LOST...LOST!

So much corruption. So much unbelievable Republican corruption.

Only those who are truly evil still support this corruption. Republicans need to take back their party or it will forever be the party of lying, greed, violence, corruption and INCOMPETENCE.
