I was having coffee this morning with a group of lawyer friends. One guy is 70 years old, and used to do prosecution work in District Court some years back (quite some years). He remarked that every Friday, he'd go over to Court early and there would be 5 or 6 state troopers in the Judge's chambers chewing the fat. He'd sit down and talk with them, after which everyone took their places and did the trials and hearings. I asked, "were the troopers talking with the Judge about the cases?" He replied, "well, they sure weren't talking about the weather." I about fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard.
