However, the bottom line is that targeting an innocent person is NEVER justified. It is, in fact, an unforgivable and heinous evil, which would not change even with the endorsement of your commanding officer.
I agree with on that point. However, justified or not what do you expect these people to do? They feel abandoned by the world. They have complained to the UN and to anybody who listened. Just take the example of last July's war. Lebanon complained to the UN and the world, the US blocked every effort to stop the killing of innocents. Not only that, they frigging rushed bomb shipments to Israel. Feeling helpless is not a good feeling and can drive people doing irrational things. Just look when 9/11 happened America felt helpless and went on a rampage.
