It doesn't really matter. Once the money is flowing to certain states and jobs are at stake, no member of Congress has an incentive to be frugal with taxpayer money


I watched the House "Iraq cost overrun" hearings with Blackwater, KBR, and ESS last night. I don't know why anyone bothers. It's scripted, and if a witness doesn't give the right answer, the Congressman continues on with his script regardless. The guy from Blackwater looked like he wanted to cry after being "questioned" by Kucinich, who ignored the clear answer to his questions and went on with his script about how Blackwater was evading his questions.

Why anybody would subject themselves to that is beyond me. They must draw straws when they get Congressional subpoenas.
