Finally, now we can get some REAL business news.

FOX Business Coming in the Fall

Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp., is a consummate business man. He let it be known today that he also is a friend to business.

Murdoch confirmed this morning while keynoting at the 2007 Media Summit New York that he will be launching a new business news cable channel this year in direct competition with NBC Universal’s CNBC.

He also confirmed that the Fox business lineup will be “business friendly,” as opposed to what he characterized as a “negative” atmosphere at CNBC.

Murdoch would not disclose details of the programming focus of the new business channel, underscoring that CNBC “would immediately copy” Fox. He offered, however, that Fox would not follow CNBC in “leaping on every scandal.”

Murdoch said the Fox business news cable channel would cover hard hitting news, but suggested a “nicer” business channel may be the winning approach in a head on battle with market dominating CNBC.

News Corp. is currently “building out studios” for a Fall launch of its new business channel.
