After you concentrate the MoS2(molybdenum disulphide) that is found in the ore, you have to roast it (burn off the sulphur) to produce molybdenum oxide or trioxide! I can not remember. But you only get paid for the molybdenum contained in the concentrate.

From periodic table of the elements.

MO(molybdenum) has atomic weight of 96
S (sulphur) has atomic weight of 32. there are 2 sulphurs so = 64.

96 + 64 = 160. 96/160 = 0.60 = 60%. Molybdenum comprises 60% of the MoS2.
