CrossCurrents has , to the best of their ability tabulated what is quite likely be the DTV at this time( DTV stands for Dollar Trading Volume and Alan Newman says to the best of his knowledge he is the only one with DTV studies, and his data goes back to 1926 ). DTV is a measure of volume and the amount of dollars used in the making of that volume. They have found due in significant part of mushrooming ETFS,the huge increase in options trading and huge increase in futures trading the DTV value is now FAR HIGHER than its previous alltime high in early 2000.(Last year they said it was almost equal to 2000, but in the past year it as exploded through the DTV of early 2000 and is now running amok.) The liquidity is unrestrained and unrelenting. There never before has ever been so much money running around looking to trade, as i said the DTV value has annihilated alltime records. Faber reveals that M3 is accelerating, now growing at 12%. Faber thinks Bernanke has got to bite the bullet and stop this printing press madness or there will be an eventual catastrophe. He says it would be initially painful but he must tighten and soon. My broker and i chat up a lot and we are both cynics, and we think Bernanke has been given a priority mandate(order) to see to it that this illussion/delusion of creating and moving money around to make money, in a fantasy world electronic movement, keep on. It getting/becoming more and more--hmmm-- what analogy do i reach for? What crosses my mind is what was the most dangerous drug concoction in the wild 60s, The Frisco SpeedbalL, and it could kill and/or cause parmanent mental damage or permanent physical damage.(i here insert, and this surely should shock some--vbg--but i never dropped acid , used cocaine nor heroin EVER but i sure was around it ) A Frisco Speedball was a mixing of Amphetamine with Acid in its simplest form but could be Acid/Cocaine/Amphetamine and Heroin. On the streets there were emergency leaflets passed all over--don't do Speedballs. It Kills. i ask why has this Frisco Speedball sprung up from the deep past archives of my memory as i scanned for a analogy to these mad/bizarre/frenetic/ financial games that are running now amok. On thinking it over i feel it is a solid analogy, for the financial world as become a virtual hallucinating fantasy, one racing at high speed levels, a delusion riding wild, naked greed streaking. i feel the fate of the Financial World will be much like those crazy enough or in innocence given a Frisco SpeedBall, one whose end was a massive CRASH, a devastation. *************************************************** Faber cries out for Bernanke to for gawd sake tighten and soon. Will he? Is it already to late?? Again i have NO date on this, none. But this picture refuses to flee my mind of the out there, the ahead of us, a cliff. Max: Through a Glass Darkly:)
