'attraction' is a subjective thing, no doubt... like beauty... in the 'eye of the beholder'.

If you are interested... I'd suggest going to where he first burst upon the national stage... and *listen* to the speech he gave years ago at the nominating convention. (I believe then you will understand what potential many voters see in him....)

She was... what? A *university professor*? As you pointed out: Never been elected to anything... appointed to the only government office she's held. Rode in as a 'pal' & adviser of Bush, then got appointed to an office.

By the way --- does she have some great international SUCCESS during her stint as Sec. State that she can hang her hat on?

(So, perhaps a fair argument could be made asking 'what's she got, also?' :-)

In truth... if someone runs for public office... the VOTERS get to make their own minds up about 'substance enough' or not.
