I think most will overlook Rudy's liberal components to win the White House

I believe you guys could be making a huge mistake. Someone has already alluded to the fact that folks from the south do not trust those from the north. It is not a matter of trust, IMO. It is a matter of liberalism-vs-conservatism. You better take a closer look at the political map again, and think twice about a liberal New Yorker as your choice.

Good points -- and yes, that's fair.

Concerning Rudi “overlook Rudy's liberal components” might be the case if the 2008 election boils down to the lesser-of-two evils. Otherwise I doubt it.

Let me ask you, is there any conceivable way you could bring yourself to overlook past behavior and punch a Florida chad for Hillary? Unless of course, she were to oppose a candidate like your deceased buddy, Arafat?

The second amendment may become a much bigger issue than most realize -- Americans are slowly becoming aware that legislation has no influence on criminals obtaining firearms, building bombs, nor anything else -- further illegal immigration only reinforces the public perception that relying on the police for protection is a farce. Just consider the pathetic effort at border control. I think the NRA may shift emphasis from hunting and recreational shooting to personal protection. And IMHO that’s not a bad idea; and I believe that Florida gun legislation confirms my impression.

The right to life is seemingly non-negotiable regardless of which side you are on. Gay rights issues are becoming less important and are becoming less of a liability.
