I hope you are right, JDN. If a Ms Clinton nomination fails to energize our base, then we deserve what we get. The way I see it, we are pretty much a 43%/43% country with whatever issue/rash or itch of the election cycle swaying the outcome. We already know some of our base will stay away from Rudi because of his social issues, despite knowing what a cluster-hump another Clinton presidency would be.

The road to 08 will be very interesting and most likely entertaining to boot.

Personally, none of the names mentioned on the GOP side have the kind of flaws that would lead me to vote third party. This is surely one where we need to stick together.
