Gotta run but found this so far.

>>Under Fath Ali Shah, Iran went to war against Russia, which was expanding from the north into the Caucasus Mountains, an area of historic Iranian interest and influence. This period marked the first major economic and military encroachments on Iranian interests during the colonial era. Iran suffered major military defeats during the war. Under the terms of the Treaty of Golestan in 1813, Iran recognized Russia's annexation of Georgia and ceded to Russia most of the north Caucasus region. A second war with Russia in the 1820s ended even more disastrously for Iran, which in 1828 was forced to sign the Treaty of Turkmanchai acknowledging Russian sovereignty over the entire area north of the Aras River (territory comprising present-day Armenia and Republic of Azerbaijan).

I'll look for more when I get back.

Iran was a pathetic place not capable of attacking much of anything. A bit like Saudi Arabia was a load of desert and so was a lot of the region until oil came along.

So it's not surprising that Iran wasn't a world conqueror.

Anyway, it's what they are doing now that matters and they are threatening to kill all Jews, infidels, apostates and anyone who points out funny things their ideology, about Mohammed, or draws pictures of him with bombs in his hat. They aren't just threatening. They are doing it. Have you heard of Theo Van Gogh and the lady he made a movie with? Salman Rushdie? They are at war with We the Free.

How many times has Iran attacked a country, lets say in the past 300 years ?

Who cares?

Because something has not happened in the past is not determinative of whether it will happen in the future.

Until 9/11, terrorism of its magnitude had not occurred on US soil.

It did, however.

If you had shouted at a NYC street corner on 9/12 that it didn't happen because it did not happen before, you would have been hauled off by folks wearing white jackets.

The better question is why a country so allegedly "peaceful" needs to suggest that it will wipe Israel off the map.

Why does such a peaceful country with more oil and gas than it can ever consume require nuclear plants for energy?

Your question is loaded with logical fallacies.

Why not try booking Hezbollah as a majority-owned subsidiary, and restating your results?
