Kumar, surely you have heard of Kashmir? Heard of en.wikipedia.org

She points out that Osama is right. If the Koran is accepted as being true and a good thing to use as a guide to what to do, as a lot of Moslems allegedly believe [which might be a vicious lie of course], then a spot of viciousness and carnage against infidels and apostates, adulterers etc is a jolly good thing.

<Islam is about martyrdom, jihad and conquest.>

I think I'm reasonably informed.

Islam = "The Religion of Peace" thereligionofpeace.com ... and if anyone disagrees, they'll be killed!!

You see the occasional strife, but nothing like the suicide bombing kind.

Why stop at India? What you pusillanimously call "strife" is terror. It had a very good quarter, globally. Bodies per blast up in India:

And it was a great '06. The shareholders are very happy:

Kumar
There are 7-8 million Muslims living peacefully in the US, despite exhortations, from certain fanatical violent guys who happen to be Muslims, that Muslims should rise up and kill...Americans, Brits, Salman Rushdie...whoever.

Islam can produce fanatics who mix politics with their religion just as Christianity can (or any other religion). There have been many examples of Christianity gone haywire when mixed with paranoia and politics- look at Jim Jones. He was part of mainline Christianity at one time, and his cult took off from that with an odd mix of paranoia and socialism. That it imploded inward, rather than exploding outward, was just a manifestation of the culture that gave birth to it (a relatively stable society, with a relatively functional, religiously homogenous and peaceful population, in a relatively peaceful part of the world), and partly, I think, a matter of luck.

That the merger of Islam and politics should give rise to fanatics in the ME with grandiose desires or semi or completely apocalyptic visions is hardly surprising. It is clear to most people, though, that millions and millions of Muslims lead productive and peaceful lives despite the fact that some fanaticism has arisen in the ME in conjunction with political movements.

I hope you know that many people know this.
