To my recall. Following the Westray accident, in 1993, in a coal mine as you know, the managers where held responsible and had criminal charges against them, the govt. and the unions made representations that brought us at least in Québec the new law C-45. I don't think they where happy with the way the mine was manadged but they couldn't get the top man so they made representations to have a law with more teeth.
That guy left N.S. and started a co. in zinc (Ontario Zinc I think it was) . They were going to rehabilitate an old mine in the state of New-York, I think. They had properties in ONT.also. They traded in TSE at or around 0.20$ for a few years. Finally that guy left the co. for he wasn't welcome in the mining business anymore and another fellow became president with him behind. I don't know how it ended but to my knowledge the co. was delisted and never got to production...Actually I wonder what happen with that old plant.
All that to tell you that mining people in N.S. are on their toes compare with Newfoundland...and that we agree to say that New. isn't a bad place for mining. RIC opened and closed a gold mine and a mill there in months...no problem.
