Following your logic, then no one had any jurisdiction over Saddam either so the US invaded a sovereign nation without any legal backing whatsoever.

Kofi was not talking about US jurisdiction, he was talking about international law. That is what the US violated, international law. And Kofi Annan knows more about it than you.
