Please understand I have had a passport for 30 years, I am not feeling any angst in particular. I believe that the US has made a mistake. I believe firmly that the US didn't have nearly as many problems with mexicans when they came and went as they pleased. I believe that closing the borders or trying to is creating the problems. I also believe that once the borders are closed, they won't be opened again, and that for 4 or 5 years Americans and Canadians in the tourism business will suffer...... And I think much of it is useless. If I thought it would make the US more secure, it would make more sense. But the terrorists came in on airplanes with visas, and learned to fly in american schools. The problem is Muslims, and everyone can tiptoe around that, but the next people who attack the US won't be Canadians, they will come from Minnesota and other foreign lands, but wait, Minnesota is in the US.

Until you give up the Illusion that everyone might be a terrorist and concentrate on the people who bring you terrorism, you are just wasting your time.

As a matter of fact, I suggested to someone the other day that in Ontario we market our wine country as "The Wine Tour you can take, without a passport." I expect that we will have to broaden our advertising of Ontario activities and push the problems of visiting the US in order to build Canadian tourism in canada.
