I've been spending quite a bit of time in the UAE lately, and it doesn't seem a terribly nutty place at all. Neither does Malaysia. >

Try to wear shorts in public, eat a ham sandwich, order a nice cold beer, and wear a white shirt with a Cross of David on it. You know, things which everywhere else are accepted as innocuous.
