I don't think all the flags represent troops, per se. In many (maybe most) cases they represent bases where the US has permission to refuel, or preposition materiel, or simply fly over.

The Iranians don't think it's amusing, but fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

So if you're arguing that the Iranians are going to kick our lily white asses, throw it down.

I dunno, those are awfully large flags. They're bigger than entire cities!

I'm sure, however, they're made in China as most American flags are today.
