I'm not so sure. If the general public was as unhappy about the National Debt and Trade Imbalances as they are about Iraq, then you might be right, but I don't think they really think about stuff like that when they vote.

In the next Presidential Election I'm pretty sure the Republican candidate will be able to lay off the Iraq fiasco on Bush and Cheney and present themselves as a viable alternative to 8 years of aberration.
