I'm talking about TRENDS, and that was the only reason for my arguments. If you and others want to see them as irrational fears, that's your problem. For the record, I'm not afraid of ANY of the things that I mentioned. I have no personal phobia. I would rather have a bit of freedom at the airport than have little old ladies get body searches because it's safer for the TSA folks than if they search people who are more likely to be problematic. How am I to know that person was a large Muslim woman? I could not tell from the eyes, which was all I could see, nor the demeanor, which was hurried and deliberate. I do know there was plenty of room under that outfit to conceal nasty devices. For all I care, large Muslim women can go to Victoria's Secret if they want to. It's their own men that want to prevent that. I do object to people trying to impose their ways on American culture. I object to them concealing their identity and intent. Muslims are doing that while nobody else is, not even the illegals from Mexico. They can adapt; I don't have to. This country doesn't have to. There is NO comparison between church bells and calls to prayer over loudspeakers. One is fundamentally musical and is not exclusively religious; the other pertains to a particular religion and is obnoxious to others. It's NOT a freedom of religion thing at all. I'm quite well aware of statistical probabilities, and you probably are not aware that firearms are way down the list, certainly well below medical malpractice and other modes on your list. The thing about terrorism and people who go around saying things like "bringing this country to its knees... of building of movement that will smash everything that Western civilization has created " is that the people doing it are of a similar stripe. Both are intolerable, and as long as people are saying things like that it make no sense not to take them at their word. I think you underestimate the effort that resulted in the Towers coming down and the other events of that day. It was a lot more than a few guys from Saudi Arabia. And their declared intent is unmistakable. I appreciate the effort you put into your responses and I can see that you have support for them in this venue. I assure you that they are not universal.
