Some business owners knowingly hire illegals. Some turn a blind eye to the status of their employees. Some work to ensure that they are in compliance. The more frequently ICE cracks down the more interest employers will take in their employees’ legal status. It is not just the employers who are the problem. There are many charities that knowingly aid the breaking of immigration laws. As I have posted before, if a few were to lose their exempt status, others would notice. I suspect that the various Catholic charities aid more than any other single group. The reason I suspect it is because of the sheer volume of their beneficence.
