I agree with you completely. Those costs are ridiculous and I have no problem with them flying commercially. I prefer it. I look at expenditures based on costs, not political parties as partisans do...

This is the reason why I have absolutely no problem with Al Gore flying around in huge private jets, despite the tons of CO2 it dumps into the atmosphere.

His security as former VP comes first.
