If there's no way I can convince you to turn the situation around and contemplate the alternative consequences then it's pointless to argue about it.

The simple difference is that if Germany or Japan had developed nuclear capability first they would have used it on us and the world that they would have created after that would not be a reconstruction.

The consequences of that are unimaginable, but they do not include our debating about it after the fact as we are now.

It's too bad the nuclear genie is out, but it's an inescapable reality.
