John, same was true in Virginia and West Virginia. The Dems controlled both legislatures and the state jobs.

My brother worked for the State Roads when he was a teenager. This launched him on his career in life-----Civil Engineering designing roads , building and maintenance for the state of New York.

To work as a teenager doing the menial jobs he had to declare that he was a Democrat.
