Don't kid yourself. China is growing by leaps and bounds because (a) they're starting from a pretty low position relative to their size, and (b) they're following in the footsteps of other Asian nations who have figured out the benefits of capitalism long before.

The standard of living there, however, is still abysmal compared to its capitalistic neighbors. Not to mention that work conditions are terrible; thousands still die in their coal mines each and every year.
