My closest Jewish neighbor was a survivor of the Bataan Death March. I knew that, but I did not know he was Jewish even though he just lived across the street.

His son became good friends with my brother and provided the DJ entertainment at my brother's wedding two years ago. Part of his act was a very clever Elvis impersonation.

As a side business he puts aluminum siding on houses. Very versatile fellow.

My sister and her husband were walking down the street in Long Branch NJ in the 60s when this old fellow motioned for us to come to his door.

He said "Come in, I want to show you something."

Inside his house in the hallway was a miniature Holocaust Museum, with photographs and artifacts of that history. It was amazing.
