i replied and you ignore my response rather you put up a state that for the last eight years voted for their own senator. can you count that as part of assumption they always vote democrat president. you asked when was last time they voted republican. they voted republican when it appear they the people of ma would financially be rewarded by getting some controls.

now i would not expect a state that continued to vote the same person into the senate seat and is mostly democrat turnaround and vote against the man they vote for all the time and cross over parties. it doesn't foot. even though many i talk to there say he is a jerk, he is their jerk and brings funds back to ma. oh, like a big dig ,, a big sand box he and ted kept filling up and keeping thousands of contractors and laborers working for over a decade.

will be a large number , doubt it but many more than in previous elections and lots of independents.

if a strong republican ran against kerry he/she could win in ma. I believe the same can happen this time for president , since no one will be in the running from northeast.
