India had nuke weapons without US approval and despite US sanctions - Yes concede that point.

India needed US approval for civilian use - energy development - and based on discussions, the US Congress approved it after President Bush did a deal with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

simply put - where do u get your supplies from ? US approval goes a long way in the NPG, to assure supplies are available.

I'll take your word that there's some kind of legislation to allow India to have nuclear technology for power plants.

This is exactly the type of thing we're trying to stop.
so why dont we disarm ourselves first ? before we tell others what they can/not do ?
