I have talked about the snow there. One year, ( we had a condo at 7000ft at the ski bowl ), we had dogs coming up to our second story windows. The people below us were always in a snow cave in the winter. Our first floor was the second from the ground. The snow covered our back balcony.

One week in Feb it snowed three feet a day for three or four days. You couldn't shovel your steps fast enough to keep them clean. A total of 42 FEET fell that year.

I made it a point to read the Donner Party diary during that Feb while I was up there. Gave the story some added meaning.

IT was never good enough to plow. Snow had to be picked and and moved because of the bulk of it. Large snow blowers were critical.
