We watched a couple of Brit gangster movies over the weekend. It was interesting to compare them. I can't say I was crazy about either one, but if I had to choose, I liked the newer one better.

First we saw 'The Long Good Friday' and although it was interesting watching Bob Hoskins and Hellen Mirren at 27 years younger, I can't say it was all that good. Lots of blurred plot lines and a bit of a mess.

Then we saw 'Layer Cake' another one along the lines of Lock, Stock and Snatch. It was OK, but also kind of sloppy/hard to follow at times. Daniel Craig was pretty interesting as the reluctant drug dealer/businessman who gets drawn into the seamier side of gangster life.

After those two, I do believe I am ready for something a bit on the brighter side :)
