I'm not so sure about that. We're taking most of our casualties in about a half dozen "hot spots".

You think it would have been prohibitively difficult to control the roads going in and out of Iraq following the invasion? I don't (although I gotta admit, I don't know the number of roads we're talking about). Whatever the number, controlling the border checkpoints would have been part of my post-invasion planning.
