One problem with third world countries is the desire to wealthy by American standards. This breeds a need for excessive wealth extraction. This often leads to kleptocracy.

The easiest way to get American wealth is to steal it in the form of foreign aid. This and countless other distractions from the business of business sidetrack the process of capitalism in the perennially unfree nations.

Thus those who cannot steal the wealth from others, but who have a burning desire to get ahead, vote with their feet and flee to America.
