How do you defeat that "enemy?"

You don't. Generally, the US troops are picked off one or two at a time and it's going to continue that way. Those that claim that we just need to stay for the long haul never think about what the long haul means. 20 years of this with no measurable progress from year to year.

AQ in Iraq is a small percentage compared to coalition forces in Iraq. There is no "central front", it's scattered unidentifiable pockets. There's no War on Terror anymore than there could be a War on Flanking Maneuvers.

IF there was an opportunity to divide Iraq into three pieces successfully, it's gone now. I believe in the end, we'll leave and the Iraqis might just turn on AQ before they turn on each other. When it burns out, we'll see what's left.
