saw a pretty interesting thing on a poker show- I guess this took place at the last world series of poker as they were jockey for a place at the final table. a guy took an all in wager and was a 3-1 favorite to win. if he wins he assures himself of a seat at the final table. I think he loses it on the final card.
2 minutes later the camera shows him going all in on Q3 , of course someone else has KK and he's gone. Then I remember that I heard someone say on a different program that what distinguishes excellent poker players from others is how they recover from a bad beat. There's probably an analogy there to other fields as well.
