The problem is that Dale & his elitist peers really are convinced they are "centrists". That presents a whole host of problems for them. They are convinced their ultra left wing ideology really is mainstream. Since most folks actually are centrists or near centrists, they seriously think that a majority of Americans are in complete agreement with every one of their socialist/Marxist/green/peacenick/nanny state ideas. Of course that fantasy is exasperated by the MSM & academia who are almost as reality challenged as Dale & his elitist peers. They do their damndest to indoctrinate the general public 24/7/365. The biggest problem they face is the fact that only a minority of Americans are in general agreement with them. And that includes almost all of the fringe left wing. So much for "centrist" & "mainstream", 'eh? How Dale & his comrades rationalize that is beyond my ability to comprehend.
