Republicans for Giuliani have given up on the "moral" issues.

Why are there there so many screaming queens leading the gay bashing charge in Republican circles?

It's a type of mob mentality. Repeat after me...American Values, Moral Majority, Family Values, Christian Values ... and you draw people in who just want to be associated with those words. Now repeat after me... The homosexual agenda, the godless liberal agenda, the feminazi agenda.... The same people who want to be associated with good words/phrases don't want to be associated with "bad" words/phrases. Since they don't really know what any of those phrases mean, i.e., they're ill-defined, the only thing they can do is repeat the phrases. But they probably have the same distribution of sexual oriented people as any other group and exposing a hypocrite makes better news than exposing someone who is already open about their sexual relationship. "Exposing" a Log Cabin Republican as gay is pretty boring news.

Your point that guys like Foley Guckert and Haggard belong in the Democratic party is a good one. Either of these could be a renowned Senator in good standing in the Democratic party.
