They like to eat fish so every shallow water spot along the Illinois River that is kept open by springs is packed with them all winter. There are even bus tours to watch them.

You are going to see a lot more when you look up.

We have a little riverfront piece here in Wa st. Was up there last weekend and our (two yrs in a row) resident Bald Eagle was back.

I had a HUGE black bird in my back yard about six months ago. It resembled a crow, but it was much larger. I got out my bird book, but never found what it was.
