Congratulations to the Administration on the FIRST STEPS toward bringing North Korea to bay.

While there is much work yet to be done, and that regime cannot be trusted for a moment, I am pleased to see that the announcements about the deal are stated in cautionary language and that the payoff seems to be "back-loaded". All good things.

From reports I have read, China (no doubt in conjunction with the U.S.) really started putting the screws down on NK after the nuclear test. Fuel, Food and currency support were withdrawn quietly but firmly by Beijing. . Food rations for even the well to do in Pyongyang were down to a few bowls of rice a week...in the outer provinces it had to be worse.

And we stationed stealth fighters in Japan not long ago. Not a big deal was made about it...no sabre rattling. But it was known and noticed by the NK, I am sure.

This deal certainly has its flaws...but it is a good step forward and hopefully can lead to further achievements.

This is a good example of using our allies (China primarily in this case) to exert influence in ways that we could not, while we quietly tightened the screws we had to use....

Now, as caution is the watchword, let's see if it holds...

Huge bribes... and they likely will get to continue to be a 'nuclear armed power'.

Yeah... real sweet deal, Floppy!
