"Do you think our military is at this time able to be as supportive of the outcome you want as you would want them to be?"

I hope so but I can't even be sure the people on the ground see things as I do. Remember Abu Graib?

"Since it seems the death toll is getting worse day by day in Iraq, someone isn't being supportive. Is it mostly the Iraqis? The fact that the US doesn't have enough men to be supportive enough? A combination? "

You know that when you begin to effectively deal with a destructive force, the energy generating that force escalates initially. I don't know if that is what we are seeing or if it means the tide has turned against us. I certainly don't trust any of the conflicting media reports, or political spokespersons to give me an objective analysis.

The one nagging theme that stuck with me in 'Turtles can Fly' was that no source of information describing the circumstances was accurate, or to be trusted, except the mystic armless boy. Unfortunately, I don't know any of those.

"A failure to find a strategy that makes the US appear supportive? (which seems like it would be important to your plan)."

That is an awful truth that may in the long term define reality. It is more than failure to find a strategy that creates the appearance. It is the deliberate efforts of spokes persons from all sides, within and without, to create the appearance of irresolvable armageddon.
