We need sustainable economies, not bubbles

You can't have a dog in this hunt, girl, until you learn that the economy is not the same thing as the stock market. The stock market had a bubble, not the economy. Economic fundamentals were fine. The market got scared as Greenspan kept tightening out of proportion to underlying inflation trends.

The economoy is only ONE of a number of things that impact the stock market. They are two separate entities. They may or may not move completely in tandem although the long term trends in each will be the same.

For ex.. As the boomers go through the retirement years, we may see somewhat anemic market performance as the boomers liquidate investments to supplement their incomes. This is demographics again at work. In the short term, we could have great years in the economy with no follow through by the markets.
