What would you consider a valid source of information, among those available?

I'm not sure there is one. I'd also point out that what "the average Iraqi" wants may in practice mean less than what the Iraqis who have guns and explosives wants.

My point was that it would be unwise to build policy on the assumption that our goals are necessarily everybody's.
