The nonbinding measure states simply that the House "will continue to support and protect" troops serving in Iraq but that it "disapproves" of the troop buildup.

I actually voted for it before I voted against it....


If the Congress is opposed to US activity in Iraq, why don't they vote to repeal the law that authorized the President to go to war? The one they all voted for in the first place.

It does seem reasonable that if they are going to pass a non-binding law saying "we don't like the surge", that they should include in the law their alternative proposal. Surely it's not inertia....
