Ted, > Instead it relies on US subsidies.......$6 billion per year to be exact.

That's like, what, 1% of Israel's GDP? And that GDP grows at a healthy 5.2%:

en.wikipedia.org;

Did you read wikepedia entry on Israel's economy before you posted it? The entry was done by the State of Israel. It claims the US only subsidizes Israel's economy to the tune of $1.2 billion and that that number is dropping. We know, in fact, that US subsidies to Israel amount to $6 billion per year including military armaments. You will also note that the post doesn't discuss Israel's high unemployment rate nor its large and growing debt. Finally, this is the first I've heard that Tel Aviv is one of "the world's ten most influential cities in terms of hi tech". I thought Israel's hi tech industry was centered mostly around Jerusalem and I hardly think its industry plays that big a role in the world of tech.
