< I've found TradeLog good. If your base currency with IB is US, trades on foreign exchanges in foreign currencies will be reported in US dollar equivalent. >

My base currency is US$, but I convert it to Cad$ so i'm now trading with Canadian Dollars, but base currency is still USD, so I would get reports based on US dollar equivalent, correct?

Can you use TradeLog for Canadian stocks? What ticker format you have to use?

Do you have to first manually enter all positions prior Jan 1 2006? Or you can simple import all data without hassle?

I subscribed to Gainskeeper and I can't enter any Canadian stocks and I can't import statements from IB because I didn't first enter manually all stock positions prior. No phone number grrr.

So are at TradeLog more user friendly? Prices are pretty much the same...

Thank you,
Mario

Churchy6 (or anyone who uses TradeLog), please, bear with me for a minute since my origin country is not USA and it is (tax report) all new to me.

I tried demo and I got all but one answer. Only question left is, if I Choose:

Reports/Gains & Losses - For filing with Taxes

and I check/click on: 'Adjust for wash sales' and 'between Shorts and Longs' (i didn't short any stock anyway)

... Will print out be in a format, that I can attach to my tax report? Is this print out OK for IRS?

Did you experience any mistakes, wrong data, wrong calculations - or it was everything OK?

Thank you,

Mario

For anyone who uses TradeLog:

I imported directly from my broker account (IB) 20 trades from Jan 2006 - for demo purposes.

Few positions are market as SHORT positions. I've always traded only LONG trades.

So aparently my past trades were not imported correctly. Has anyone experienced such a mistakes?

Is web import more reliable that direct broker download?

Thank you,

Mario
