"Bush actually had a decent record as governor... " Yeah; Texas beat out LA for the dirtiest air in the country, and he killed a lot of people. That hasn't changed.

Texas has a weak governor system. I'm not entirely sure what that means but I understand it's more a ceremonial position rather than a truly executive one. I don't see Dubya as a good governor, I see him as a TAX & STEALER. IMO, he's always been out to do exactly one thing: transfer wealth from the pockets of the many to the pocket of his BASE. In that, he's be absolutely, rip-roaringly successful which is why he doesn't lose any sleep over the chaos in Iraq. That 'defense' budget keeps growing like an algae bloom so he's hugely successful within his own little circle.
