so, are you backing this effort to get to the bottom of that horrendous sf beating of the yale singers? rush and hannity were all over this story, but seem to have missed this more recent development

"Marines Asked To Assist Investigation of Yale Attack

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- At least one Marine was detained by police on New Year’s Eve in connection with a confrontation involving the Yale a cappella group known as the Baker’s Dozen, said a lawyer for two members of the group injured that night.

The lead suspect in the attack that took place after a New Year’s party in the Richmond has since shipped out to Japan, hampering police efforts to interview him, according to attorney Jim Hammer.

“The police print outs that night actually show his name,” Hammer told KCBS, noting that two other Marines may also be involved in the attack.

“We've heard the name of the second Marine, who apparently was at least there and arrived with his van full of attackers,” Hammer said.

He did not know specifically what that man’s exact involvement in the confrontation was. The ten singers told police that night they were attacked by a group of men who jumped out of a van as they walked home after singing the national anthem at the party.

The jaw of one of the singers, Sharyar Aziz, was broken during the incident. Another singer, Evan Gogel, suffered a concussion. Both men are being represented by Hammer.

A third Marine may also have been involved in the incident, the lawyer said.

“To help the investigation, we sent a letter to the general in charge of the U.S. Marines asking for the Marine cooperation so that the police can continue to do their work on this case,” Hammer said.

No arrests have been made in the case. The San Francisco district attorney’s office has said it would wait for police to finish their investigation before pressing any charges."
